Under the direction of Curt Brewer of the law firm of K&L Gates, friends of The Healing Place of Wake County have launched this campaign to raise $50,000 by June 30, 2009. Through this campaign, an additional $50,000 in matching funds from a private family foundation will also be provided to The Healing Place. But to secure this match, we need to raise the initial $50,000 to be eligible for the matching funds... and we need your help.
You will be supporting an incredibly cost effective recovery program. The Healing Place spends less than $30.00 a day per client and our key outcome measure is quite remarkable: over 68% of The Healing Place graduates are still sober and productive members of society a year after transitioning from the program.
The funds from this campaign alone will provide over 3300 days in our recovery program. This goes a long way in meeting our mission of "Helping People Find Their Way Back" from being a drain on society to being a contributing member of our community.
As stated by an alumnus of The Healing Place while he was in the program:
"For the first time in a long time I believe I have a chance in life".
"Before I came to The Healing Place I drank and drugged daily and had no idea how to stop. One day I became willing to do anything in order to stop, so I came to The Healing Place where two people I knew had gotten help. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made. For the first time in a long time I believe I have a chance in life. My wife and children are back in my life, I have two jobs waiting on me when I complete my commitment to The Healing Place. I know that anything is possible as long as I don't use. I owe the people of Wake County and The Healing Place more than I could ever repay, because with the help of God they gave me my life back".
