Waste Industries
Donates to The Healing Place for the 3rd Consecutive Year
Raleigh NC. December 12, 2007. The Healing Place of Wake County
announced today that Waste Industries, a regional, non-hazardous solid
waste services company, has provided a generous donation to be used for
operating the non-profit’s rehabilitation facility for homeless people
with alcohol and drug dependency.
“We have an amazing loyal set of donors,” said Dennis Parnell, executive
director, and we are so grateful, for the continuing support of Waste
Industries towards our treatment of homelessness and addiction. It is a
real privilege to work with companies like Waste Industries to give back
to the community.”
The Healing Place provides a unique peer to peer recovery program that
helps homeless substance abusers become responsible, productive, and
self-supporting citizens.

The Healing Place of Wake County is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) recovery
and rehabilitation facility for homeless people with alcohol and drug
dependency. The Men’s Center opened its doors in January 2001, and the
Women’s Center began operation in January 2006. The Healing Place of
Wake County is built on the principles of the highly successful Healing
Place in Louisville KY, which received the 1998 US Department of Health
Resources and Service Administration “Models That Work Award” in
recognition of the success of the program.
