Oreck, home of the famous 8 LB Oreck Upright, continues its charitable contributions in the communities served by Oreck Clean Home Centers. Oreck’s twelve North and South Carolina stores will hold a Night of Giving on November 28th, 2007 to raise funds for The Healing Place of Wake County located in Raleigh NC. Between 6 and 7 PM on Wednesday, Nov. 28th,  Oreck will donate 10% of sales to The Healing Place, a non-profit recovery and rehabilitation facility for homeless people with alcohol and drug dependency.

Oreck manufactures the popular 8-lb. Oreck Upright Vacuum, Floor Machines and Steemers, state-of-the-art Air Purifiers and outstanding household cleansers.   There are over 475 Oreck Clean Home Centers nationwide. The two Oreck Clean Home Centers in the Raleigh area are at Crossroads Plaza, 245 Crossroads Blvd in Cary and at Brier Creek Commons, 8321 Brier Creek Pkwy in Raleigh.

Oreck is a family owned business and was the first  company to reopen a national headquarters in New Orleans after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. Named Heroes of Katrina in 2005 by CNN, the Oreck family has a tradition of giving back to the community through charitable work with local non-profits such as The Healing Place as well as charities with a national scope including the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.  For more information, visit www.oreck.com

Oreck selected The Healing Place, in part, for the non-profits success in reducing homelessness and the devastating impacts of addiction. The recovery and rehabilitation program at The Healing Place is focused on “Helping People Find Their Way Back” as they become contributing members of society. The program has demonstrated an extremely high success rate with approximately 70 percent of their clients still sober a year after graduation.

The Healing Place of Wake County is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) recovery and rehabilitation facility for homeless people with alcohol and drug dependency. The Men’s Center opened its doors in 2001, and the Women’s Center began operation in early 2006. As of January 2007, over 6200 men and women have been provided with more than 360,000 beds of shelter. The nonprofit has also provided thousands of recovery classes and meetings.
